Stop Treating and Start Healing

Stop Treating and Start Healing

By Rev. Teri Strong, DMin., 13th Episcopal Dsitrcit

Who is your primary care physician? We think of a medical doctor when this question is asked. However, when health issues arise, we should first be in touch with the One who designed the body. He is the One who knows everything about it.

Cancer might be a challenge for doctors but not for Jesus. He knows how to cure it. Research has taken place for decades with no cure. Researchers claim to have answers but offer the same solutions of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation. An internet article entitled “The Cancer Industry is Too Prosperous to Allow a Cure” states, “We have lost the war on cancer.”

Statistics on who gets cancer and dies include one in 15 in the 1940s to one in three today. There are 1,665,540 new cases diagnosed. There are 585,720 annual deaths. The adult success rate after five years is 2%. If this were the success rate for any other issue it would be considered a dismal failure.

So, what is the answer? Genesis 1:29 says, “God said, ‘See, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit; you shall have them for food.’” Genesis 9:3 says, “Every moving thing that lives shall be food for you; and just as I gave you the green plants, I give you everything.” So, this gives us what to eat.

The “what” is simple. The “how” is not. Today, food is produced with chemicals which cause disease. Chemical cancer treatments also cause cancer. Chemicals that grow food and treat diseases both keep the odds against us. Monsanto is a company that has a patent on genetically-modified seeds that control most of our food supply. The seeds are known as the “seeds of death.” This should encourage us to grow our food, on own property, from seeds they do not control.

Who is your primary care physician? Your answer should be Jesus. Philippians 3:3 tells us, “For it is we who are the circumcision, who worship in the Spirit of God and boast in Christ Jesus and have no confidence in the flesh.”

Do not place all your confidence in doctors. Rather, Jesus should be first when we are experiencing health issues. Seek Him with prayer instead of being the doctor’s prey. Try meditation with medication. Try herbs and diet changes before surgery and chemicals.

John 16:13 says, “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth; for he will not speak on his own, but will speak whatever he hears, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.” Let the Holy Spirit speak and guide you to the truth of how your body is to be healed. Don’t just settle for trusting man’s treatment. Let God guide you to the right sources for healing and be your primary care physician.
