God Provides Ministry

God Provides Ministry

What a mighty God we serve! COVID-19 hit our country and caused attention to how some would be able to continue to provide for their families. In March, when a lot of businesses were shutting down, the Rev. Dr. Robert Richard Allen Turner, the pastor of Historic Vernon AME Church, received a vision from God to continue to feed the people and the God Provides Ministry was formed.

Of the 135 members on the roll, 80 percent of them are senior citizens. That still didn’t stop us from doing what God had planned.

There is not a day that goes by that we don’t serve food. Groceries are given out. Hot meals are cooked and taken to those who are living in the elements and cannot make it to the church.

The God Provides Ministry has received updates from those served that they’ve been able to get out of the elements and into housing as well as getting employment. To God be the glory!

We don’t charge anything for the meals nor do we require ID or address verification. It is our Christian duty to help those who may not be able to help themselves.

To date, we have served 107, 526 meals and there is not a plan to stop anytime soon. God has been mighty good to us and we will continue to ask him to increase and multiply as the God Provides Ministry serves those in the Tulsa community and surrounding areas. We are inspired by God to make a difference.
