19th Episcopal District Sons of Allen Convention

19th Episcopal District Sons of Allen Convention

Brother M.K. Motloung, 19th District

From September 16-18, 2016, the 19th Episcopal District’s Sons of Allen held their Annual Convention at JE Hunter AME Church in Seshego/Polokwane, South Africa. The Presiding Prelate is the Right Reverend Paul JM Kawimbe and the SOA District President is Brother Mvula Dumile Ngcana.

The Convention opened on Friday with a powerful sermon by Presiding Elder Mohale Daniel Makhene and was a great success in that 124 fathers from all five annual conferences were registered compared to 98 in 2015.This was the third session held since 2013.

God’s presence was felt and Polokwane was painted maroon during their stay in Seshego. The Convention resolved to practice and promote ecumenism per Article 2 of the Organization’s bylaws. This should happen by inviting other denominations to come together and share. God being on our side, we have received an invitation from the South African Council of Churches to come and join them on 15 October, 2016 and discuss issues of common interest. We were influential that this meeting should take place. The Sons of Allen truly have arrived and are spreading like locusts in Pharaoh’s land.
