Allen Temple, Tampa Celebrates Veterans Day
On November 11, 2018, Allen Temple AME Church in Tampa, Florida, under the leadership of the Rev. Glenn B. Dames, held a special service to celebrate Veterans Day. This holiday commemorates the service of all veterans in every branch of the United States Armed Forces.
The color guard was furnished by Sheriff Chad Chornister and the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. The speaker for the day was Major General Scott R. Dingle, an AME itinerant elder from the 10thEpiscopal District. Major General Dingle currently serves as the Deputy Surgeon General and Deputy Commanding General (Support) U.S. Army Medical Command.
During the service, all members who were veterans were saluted. This included Pastor Dames who served in the United States Army.
