On February 17, 2026, history will be made in Maputo, Mozambique, as the Connectional Richard Allen Young Adult Council (RAYAC) of the African Methodist Episcopal Church convenes its first-ever District 14–20 Convergence Session. This landmark summit will unite young adult leaders and members from across multiple Episcopal Districts under the powerful theme: “One Faith, Many Nations, One Mission” (Ephesians 4:3–6). More than a meeting, the Convergence Session represents a movement of unity, vision, and shared purpose among young adults across the Connectional Church. It is a bold expression of RAYAC’s commitment to strengthening global relationships, deepening faith, and advancing collective mission in an increasingly interconnected world.
This transformative experience is being championed and curated by Connectional RAYAC 2nd Vice President, Bro. Thembinkosi Kumalo Sr, under the visionary leadership of Connectional RAYAC President, Bro. Jeremy D. Satterwhite. Their collaborative leadership affirms connectional unity, demonstrating that focused engagement within Districts 14–20 strengthens the whole Church and reinforces RAYAC as one unified voice across all Episcopal Districts. Designed as both a spiritual and strategic gathering, the Convergence Session moves beyond the framework of a traditional meeting. It creates sacred space for worship, work, and wisdom where young adults engage in worshipful grounding, collaborative leadership work through dialogue and discernment, and the cultivation of wisdom for faithful service across continents. Together we are united by one faith, one mission, serving one God.
A central pillar of the session is leadership development. Participants will engage in intentional formation that strengthens spiritual grounding, cultivates leadership capacity, and enhances organizational understanding. Through meaningful interaction with Connectional, Episcopal, Conference, and Local leaders, young adults will experience mentorship, shared learning, and the exchange of best practices that equip them to lead effectively both within the African Methodist Episcopal Church and in their personal communities.
Equally important is the session’s emphasis on strategic alignment and operational excellence. The Convergence provides a collaborative platform for RAYAC leaders and members to align vision, clarify priorities, and strengthen collective efforts toward spiritual growth, organizational effectiveness, and sustainable impact. This shared alignment enhances RAYAC’s ability to respond creatively and faithfully to the evolving needs of young adults across Districts 14–20. Hosting the Convergence Session in Maputo, Mozambique, symbolizes RAYAC’s commitment to a global and inclusive ministry. It challenges young adults to see themselves not only as representatives of local churches or districts, but as active contributors to a living Connectional vision, one that transcends borders and embodies the unity of the Body of Christ.
The RAYAC’s District 14–20 Convergence Session stands as a bold declaration of unity in diversity, many nations, one faith, one mission, working together for the glory of God and the continued growth of the African Methodist Episcopal Church as we join together and work in the vineyard of being about our father’s business.
One RAYAC. One Church. One God.
