WMS Letting Their “Little Light Shine”

WMS Letting Their “Little Light Shine”

By Nedra McDaniel

The Betty E. Derrick Women’s Missionary Society of St. John AME Church decorated Christmas lanterns for their sick and shut-in members. Sister Paulette Williams and Sister Stephanie Scott instructed the missionaries on decorating the lanterns. This service project also provided a time of fellowship for the missionaries.

Groups of missionaries visited the members and delivered the lanterns. The members were all appreciative of the thoughtful Christmas expression. The visits were a blessing to the sick and shut-ins as well as the missionaries.

The missionaries also participated in the Northwest WMS Angel Tree project. The WMS meets the fourth Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. at the church. Sister Lorraine Parham is the president.
