The Rev. Dr. Homer Littlefield McCall Scholarship Endowed

During the Alabama A&M University’s Annual Founders Day Celebration, the members of St. John AME Church presented a check in the amount of $26,500 to Alabama A&M University’s 11th President, Dr. Andrew Hugine, Jr. to establish an endowed scholarship in honor of the Rev. Dr. Homer Littlefield McCall.

Dr. McCall worked for approximately 39 years as a professor of English and chaplain at Alabama A&M University and 40 years as senior pastor of St. John AME Church. There is a divine connection between the church that the Rev. McCall pastored and the university, where he worked and mentored legions of students and young faculty members.

Due to the Rev. McCall’s love and dedication to Alabama A&M University, the members of the St. John AME Church family have given over $25,000 to establish an endowed scholarship in honor of the Rev. McCall. Many of the members of the church family were present for the presentation and the Rev. McCall gave very gracious acceptance remarks for this great honor.
