Kelly Russaw Shelton is a hardworking member of the Fourth Episcopal District under the inspirational leadership of Bishop Frederick Alan Wright, Sr. and Supervisor Jennifer Dixon Wright. At the Annual Convention of the Chicago Conference Women’s Missionary Society, Kelly announced her aspirations to seek the office of Treasurer of the Connectional WMS.
Kelly is a Life Member of the WMS and a faithful member of Greater Institutional AME Church in Chicago, Illinois. She has served the WMS in many capacities including Local President, Conference Branch President, Episcopal District PME Director, and Episcopal District 1st Vice President. Currently serving as the Connectional Chair of Membership & Recruitment, Kelly was instrumental in the development of the Connectional Membership & Recruitment Playbook, a resource to recruit, retain, and reclaim members of our beloved WMS.
Professionally, Kelly is the founder and CEO of Shelton Solutions, Inc., a 20-year-old energy consulting firm serving most of Chicago’s public sector entities. She manages annual energy budgets averaging $140 million.
Kelly is the daughter of the late Drs. Floyd & Ethel Russaw and the sister of Rev. Dr. Kimberly Russaw and Kaye Russaw. She is joyfully married to Sean Shelton and together they have one son, Sean Shelton, II, a daughter-in-love, Rayana… and a nephew that feels like a son, Michael Shelton, II.

Education: Kelly earned a B.S. in Industrial Engineering with Statistics from Northern Illinois University, an M.S. in Engineering Management from Northwestern University, a Certificate in Financial Accounting from Harvard Business School and a Certificate in Missiology from Turner Theological Seminary.
Experience: Kelly serves on the Trustee Board and is the co-chair of the Stewardship & Finance Committee at Greater Institutional AME Church. She chairs the Budget & Finance Committee of the 4th Episcopal District Lay Organization. She has also served as the Treasurer of the Imani Pearls Community Development Foundation and chaired the Audit Committee of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.®, Chi Omega Omega Chapter.
Enrichment: Kelly obtained the coveted credential of Certified Board Director from the National Association of Corporate Directors. She also completed the Black Corporate Board Readiness Program at the Leavey Executive Center of Santa Clara University.
