IMPACT Conference 2018
Saturday, July 21, 2018 from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm at the Reid Temple AME Church
The 2018 Impact Conference was held on Saturday, July 21, at Reid Temple AME Church at its Glenn Dale Campus. This annual leadership and ministry training conference is designed to equip clergy, lay leaders, and ministry workers to have a greater impact in their calling. With a focus on aspects of transition, the conference kicked off with a dynamic opening plenary, led by our senior pastor and conference convener, the Rev. Dr. Lee P. Washington.
Using the prayer of Moses in Numbers 27:16-17, the 45-minute session examined transition in leadership and discussed how the church ought to pray, plan, and prepare for such changes. Participants from across the country, from both AME and non-AME congregations, then had an opportunity to dialogue with experts and peers in three additional workshop sessions.
These workshops were led by anointed men and women of faith—both clergy and laity—gifted, experienced, and trained in head and heart. This year’s conference offered participants 14 sessions in which to choose. Attendees left equipped with actionable guidance on how to courageously move by faith into their purpose.
