17thEpiscopal District Planning Meeting
From November 8-10, in Mansa, Zambia, the clergy and laity of the 17thEpiscopal District gathered under the leadership of Bishop Wilfred J. and Supervisor Carol I. Messiah for the Annual Planning Meeting to set the agenda for the 2018-2019 conference year. The meeting was hosted by St. Thomas AME Church pastored by the Rev. Taylor Siulapwa. It was held at the Chinunchi Guest Lodge.
Also attending the Planning Meeting as a guest preacher and lecturer was the Rev. W. Antoni Sinkfield, the pastor of Payne Chapel AME Church in Nashville, Tennessee (13thEpiscopal District). Highlights of the planning meeting included the M-SWAWO+PKs retreat and the unveiling of the Episcopal District chitenge (AME cloth). Several appointments were made as well as updates given on the new Episcopal Office building in Lusaka, Zambia.
