The 10th District Young People’s and Children’s Division, under the leadership of Bishop Ronnie E Brailsford, Sr, and Supervisor Rev. Carolyn E. Brailsford, proudly announces the successful completion of our mission outreach initiative held during the Annual Youth Summit, themed “Battle Ready.” As a powerful demonstration of faith in action, youth from across the district collected and donated over 740 brand-new pairs of shoes to Communities Partners of Dallas, an organization that supports children within the foster care system and those who are victims of abuse. This total exceeded the original goal of 500 pairs by more than 200.
In addition to this effort, over 100 pairs of gently worn shoes were also donated to the Genesis Women’s Center of Dallas, further extending the reach and impact of the district’s mission outreach to support women and families overcoming domestic violence.
The mission outreach was intentionally designed to align with the Youth Summit’s theme, Battle Ready, emphasizing preparation, compassion, and service beyond the walls of the church. This impactful initiative was created by Second Vice President A’Yana Smith in response to a critical and identified need within the community, providing individuals in crisis with essential items that restore dignity, comfort, and confidence. Shoes remain one of the most requested necessities, as many enter care or crisis situations with few or no personal belongings.
The Annual Youth Summit served as the ideal platform to combine spiritual empowerment with tangible action. Through the collective efforts of YPDers, local churches, community partners, and volunteers, the district united around a shared mission of service. The overwhelming response highlighted the power of youth-led leadership and the commitment of the 10th District YPD to live out its faith through meaningful outreach.
These donations will help both Communities Partners of Dallas and the Genesis Women’s Center of Dallas continue their vital missions by ensuring children and women have access to essential resources that support physical well-being, dignity, and emotional healing.
The 10th District YPD remains steadfast in its commitment to identifying critical community needs and responding with purpose, generosity, and action. This Battle-Ready mission outreach stands as a powerful example of how youth-led service can create lasting change.
