In 2020, under the visionary leadership of our pastor, the Reverend Dr. Susan H. Ephraim, Majestic Care Partners (MCP) was formed at Allen Temple AME Church in Atlanta. From its humble beginnings with just seven dedicated members, the ministry has blossomed into a vibrant community of twenty, united in one purpose: to support caregivers on their often-challenging journey.
Our motto, “Majestic Care Partners – Where Caring is our Calling,” reflects the heart of what we do. We walk alongside caregivers—many of whom are caring for loved ones living with various forms of dementia—offering encouragement, resources, prayer, and fellowship. Caregiving can be overwhelming, isolating, and emotionally draining, but it doesn’t have to be done alone. MCP is here to be a constant source of strength and support.
Allen Temple is proud to be a church partner with ALTER Dementia (https://alterdementia.com), a health initiative founded by Dr. Fayron Epps. Known initially as Faith Village, ALTER is committed to providing health-related resources and culturally competent support to African American faith communities. Because the church has always played a central role in Black communities, Dr. Epps’ vision aligns naturally with our mission. Under her leadership, Allen Temple has emerged as one of the most active ALTER partners in the Atlanta area.
Majestic Care Partners holds monthly virtual meetings via Zoom on the last Tuesday evening of each month, creating a safe and welcoming space for caregivers to share, learn, and connect. Recognizing that not all caregivers can attend during the week, we are currently planning weekend sessions to broaden accessibility.
But our ministry extends beyond adult caregivers. Majestic Care Partners recognizes that youth are also stepping into caregiving roles, often without even realizing it. Whether helping grandma with chores or comforting a loved one living with dementia, their contributions matter deeply. We are excited to launch a youth caregiving initiative, beginning with four young ladies at Allen Temple who are currently caring for family members. Our goal is to help them recognize their role, build confidence, and know that they are not alone.
We are also expanding to support male caregivers, a group too often overlooked. At the April 2025 ALTER Caregiver Summit hosted by Impact Church, a powerful men’s workshop gave voice to male caregivers’ unique experiences. That session stirred something in us. Since then, we have begun reaching out to the seventeen known male caregivers at our church, offering them an affirming space to be seen, supported, and heard.
At its core, Majestic Care Partners is about community, compassion, and connection. Even members who are no longer actively caregiving stay involved—offering mentorship, joining in fellowship, traveling together, and celebrating life.
To every caregiver—young or seasoned, male or female—MCP says: You are not alone. You are valued. You are seen. Because at Majestic Care Partners, Caring is Our Calling.
