Terrence Sanford, FEDLO Director of Public Relations
At the 82nd Annual Fourth Episcopal District Lay Convention, held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, we witnessed a momentous occasion as Mr. Michael A. Cousin Jr. was elected as our new Lay President. We give praise to God for this historic milestone in our history, as Michael is not only a dedicated layperson but also a millennial, highlighting the district’s commitment to recognizing the significance of young adult leadership within the lay organization.
Michael’s election reaffirms our belief in the vibrancy and potential of millennial leadership in the Fourth Episcopal District. His previous roles, including serving as the FDLO Director of Lay Activities and various positions within the lay organization and the Young Peoples Division. He is also active at his home church, St. Stephen African Methodist Episcopal Church Detroit. All of his years of experience and growth in the church have prepared him well for this pivotal role.
Having had the privilege of working alongside Michael as the Young Adult Representative, I can personally attest to his faithfulness and dedication. His passion for African Methodism, the Lay Organization, and the Fourth District is palpable. Michael seamlessly combines his deep knowledge of the church with innovative and practical approaches to engagement, inspiring those around him.
In the late 1980’s gospel group, Kingdom pinned these words; All that I am, and all that I hope to be. All my desires, my ability. I’m fully committed to your Will, and your way. I’ll make the sacrifice, to do what you ask of me. My love’s forever Jesus, and you’re all that I need. I give my life fully committed to you. This song describes his commitment to God and is the mantra of our president. As we continue to grow and thrive, Fourth Episcopal District Lay Organization lets rally behind our president, Mr. Michael A Cousin as he is fully committed.

Congratulations Michael!👏🏽👆🏽👏🏽
We are so blessed to have a leader like Michael! God is not through blessing us through him! It does not yet appear what is in store for this young giant! So proud of him and his leadership!
