AME University is a faith-based institution located in Monrovia, Liberia. Founded in 1995, the University has grown progressively over the years, currently with more than 6,000 students enrolled in 16 academic degree-granting programs across 4 colleges within our undergraduate programs and 5 academic programs in our graduate school.
                                                         
Position Title:          Dean, Bryant Theological Seminary

Technical Duties:

  • Serve as the academic and administrative head of the College or Seminary.
  • Develop a strategic plan which defines the mission of the college and aligns it with the University’s mission and strategic priorities.
  • Support and promote the highest quality in academic programs, research, public service, and economic development activities  in the Bryant College
  •  Foster interdisciplinary programs with the deans of other colleges;
  •  Enhance the reputation and viability of the seminary programs;
  • Initiate and implement an enrollment management plan that is consistent with the University’s plan and aims to improve student recruitment and retention.
  • Prepare annual report of the college
  • Recommend to the VPAA all personnel actions, such as appointment, reappointment, promotion, leave, dismissals, transfer, resignation, and sabbatical.
  • Mediate conflicts arising among faculty and their department chairs or program coordinators, faculty and staff, or faculty, staff, and students.
  • Coordinate requests submitted by the academic unit, ensuring that they are aligned with the unit’s goals and presented to the appropriate university offices for approval in a timely fashion.
  • Ensure that accurate and timely academic advising is provided to students in the college
  • Serve on councils and committees and undertake projects assigned by the VPAA
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required by the VPAA and the President.

Educational / Work Experience
The candidate should have a Terminal degree with 3-4 years of working experience with a recognized university or reputable institutions. However, being a member of the AME Church is an added advantage.
