Special to The Christian Recorder

As part of the Immanuel Temple’s commitment to extravagant generosity, September won’t soon be forgotten by several South Florida families. Designating the month of September as the “Jubilee Season,” the Pembroke Pines congregation funneled their Gifts of Mission offering into Kingdom Opportunities to help those with particular needs.

One couple that had been walking to church were blessed with a car. Six local students in need were provided with new laptop computers.  Two single-parent families were blessed with a month’s supply of food, household items, and toiletries. Sixty principals in South Broward County Public Schools were given gift bags and letters of appreciation for their commitment to local children. Eleven hundred officers in Opa-Locka, Miami Gardens, North Miami Beach, Miramar, Hollywood, Hallandale, and Pembroke Pines received gift bags and letters of appreciation for officers who put their lives on the line daily to protect and serve.

“With so many people in such great need, we use this time as yet another opportunity to reach out and express the love of Christ in a tangible way,” said Immanuel Temple Pastor, the Rev. John F. White II. “In 1 John 3:18, the Bible says, ‘Let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth,’ and so Immanuel Temple has shared in LOL (Love Out Loud) to live out that mandate,” White added.
