Light House AME Church dedicated by Bishop WJ Messiah

On September 10, 2017, Light House AME Church in Chililabombwe, Zambia, was dedicated. Chiliabombwe is a border town situated on the Zambian side of the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It is in the Copperbelt West Presiding Elders’ District, where the Rev. Mfula Peter Pious Mwenya is the presiding elder. The Rev. Silwimba Fundi is the pastor.

The guests of honour were the Episcopal family of the Rt. Rev. Wilfred Jacobus Messiah and Supervisor Mrs. Carol Isabella Messiah. Others in attendance included Presiding Elder Leonard Chola, Bishop Messiah’s administrative assistant in the South West Zambia Conference; the Rev. Cosmas Wakunguma, Bishop’s Messiah’s administrative assistant & president of the 17th Episcopal District Presiding Elders Council; Presiding Elder Martin Chama, the Rev. Jack Chikwalakwala and Episcopal Director of Christian Education; and TCR Field Representative the Rev. Royd Mwandu. With the dedication of this church, Chililabombwe now has two AME Churches.
