AMEs Honored at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary Gala; Bishop Ingram Gives Keynote Address

The Center for the Church and the Black Experience (CBE) at Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary will honor the CBE 45 Outstanding Alums and the Garrett-Evangelical Black Seminarian (G-EBS) 2017 graduates at The Generations Gala on May 10, 2017. The keynote speaker was Bishop Gregory G. M. Ingram of the First Episcopal District of the African Methodist Episcopal Church. Bishop Ingram spoke from the theme, “Generations.”

Founded in 1970, CBE is committed to empowering and training persons to be prophetic “leaders of leaders” for the African American religious community and society-at-large. Black faculty members and other scholars operating through CBE provide research, mentoring, and training via classroom teaching, publishing, seminars, workshops, and consultation to churches, community agencies, and the Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary community. Courses taught by CBE faculty are open to all students and are designed to be fully integrated into the overall curriculum of the seminary.

The Generations Gala commemorated 45 years of outstanding work by CBE and celebrate its outstanding alums, as well as rise up and send off the 2017 G-EBS graduates. Fellowship gathering begins at 6:00 p.m. with dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. To learn more about the CBE 45 Outstanding Alums, go to CBE45.com.
